Mr. G's Emergency and Firedrill Procedures
The following procedures, although rarely used, are very important. In the event of a
fire or other emergency, we, as a class, need to exit the classroom, and maybe the school
building, quickly and safely. By following these simple procedures below, this task can be
accomplished without any problems.
- Warning Bells
- If there is a series of 2 bells, three times in a row, students return
to their official class and wait for further instructions.
- If there is a series of 3 bells, students will exit the school directly from the classroom.
- During all firedrills, students take their books, unless otherwise instructed.
Exiting Safely from the Classroom
- During a fire or emergency drill, we line-up:
- Boys by the closets.
- Girls in the back of the room.
- QUIETLY, we exit the room and go down the nearest safe exit, unless instructed to go somewhere else.
- Once we are outside the school building, and head in the designated schoolyard or park area.
- We then wait, quietly, for further instructions.
